Many people ask me about my personal life and how it has defined me as a leader, teacher, wife, mother, and friend. I hope this gives you better insight into the inspiration in my life and why I am so passionate about Knowing God! What inspired this ministry? The inspiration came when my husband Ray and I moved to California in 2000; I knew at that time God had called me and given me a passion to help others know the depth of His goodness. As He cultivated in me a desire to teach about His love, I became the student. God revealed to me the great value He places on people; this changed the way I see others; people became my passion. Now, today, our ministry upholds that same desire to help others understand the love of God and value what God values—people!
Family is Priority! Ray and I have been married almost 20 years; he is the love of my life—it's so wonderful to live with my best friend. Our children are grown—three married, three single. We have two granddaughters and a precious little girl on the way. We all look forward to spending our Christmas together in Big Bear,
My biggest challenges in life... (We all have them!) This is my second marriage, as well as Ray’s. Early on, we had difficulty blending six children into one family. In addition, after my first husband and I divorced, I experienced the true meaning of forgiveness. While I’ve always loved God, I haven’t always lived a godly life. Jesus truly redeemed me and forgave me, even when I felt that was the last thing I deserved. I began to realize that His love and forgiveness didn’t depend on my goodness. Because of my experiences, I became passionate to proclaim His unconditional love, acceptance, and forgiveness. When I saw and understood how God’s love reached down and lifted me out of my mess, I was humbled and wanted to live the rest of my life serving Him and telling others how to receive His love and forgiveness.
Going back to school in my 50’s... My passion to lead like Jesus inspired me to pursue a master’s degree with an emphasis in Christian Leadership. My office at home is surrounded by books on leadership and team building; they make me smile. Mentoring is an important part of my ministry.
The greatest INSPIRATION! When people understand principles I’ve taught them in the Word, and they go and teach others, this fulfills one of my favorite Scriptures, “Their responsibility is to equip God's people to do His work and build up the church, the body of Christ.” (Ephesians 4:12 NIV)
